DAY 2 - 7/14/20 - earth balance

earth balance

Bread is, golden
like, sunshine
sun rays, flowin
like butter on bread
the kind that I like
watch out
get enough of both of em
they’ll fuck you up
big time
one on, the inner and the other on
the outside, outside

It’s the nature of all natural things
take too much of it
and it’ll come back
biting
find that balance, but don’t get tricked
better to get sick, than to choose that fake
bullshit

Salt, fat, acid, and heat
the things that Samin
taught to me
no where in those pages I turned
read about the magic of
chemically spread butter, instead
form a bond with animals
to get what you need
don’t even hafta be dead
you can make friends with them instead
friends instead

And if you’re not
down for it
it’s your loss, but
not sayin it’s black or white
but you don’t fuss at me
if I turn down your dinner invite

I made friends with so many animals while working as a farm hand in Anderson Valley.

DAY 1 - 7/13/20 - Didn't Last

Didn’t Last

I remember
the first time
that I felt it all
melt down
Panic
came from within
in it’s most familiar place

On my chest
I found bluebirds
they were singing
mirrored sky in the great time
that I knew
And the songs they were singing
didn’t last
didn’t last
didn’t last

I have a sticker
sits on my wall
says “I love Democracy”
the fuck do I know?
the fuck do they know?
the fuck do we even have to show?
It’s a game now
we just play how
we hate on our fellow man
I don’t think
we will ever see true peace
All are brought down to
our knees
equalizer
quick to find more
differences
Oh I think we’ll all die
before it ends

I don’t mean
to bring us down
more than we need
and maybe it will work?
maybe we will find
what we’ve been searching for?
Guess I’m just afraid
when comes time that day
I’m not strong enough
to bleed

A group of trees reaching over the Rio Grande that I snapped on a bike ride. I was visiting a friend, someone I had dated previously. Our romantic relationship didn’t last.
